Bullies are a dying breed

Don’t bully me!

I believe that the aggressive, push, push, bullying style of leadership is a dying breed.

It can lead to power plays, undermining, backstabbing, and even unhealthy perfectionistic behaviours.

Leadership of this kind in the public sector and organisations becomes draining for individuals and teams, and ultimately can cost a lot of time and resources.

Today’s successful leaders are those who people aspire to follow, who are creating psychologically safe environments and healthy, sustainable cultures that extend resources and grow people so they naturally perform at a higher level without burnout.

The challenge many leaders tell me thought is that the pace of change, the driving need to do more with less and the demand for reaching targets and deadlines at any cost is leaving many leaders overwhelmed and powerless to “keep up” or to create the space to lead more consciously, not just manage minute by minute.

However I believe and I have witnessed time and time again that when a manager makes the shift to conscious human leader amazing transformations can happen and can stick and deliver great outcomes for all.
What I’ve seen and found is that the more highly aware, self-actualised, connected, and grounded a leader is – the more clear they are of their own strengths and the value they bring, the higher their team can go and grow.

Keen to develop this in yourself?

I’ve co-written a white paper with some incredible colleagues and I’d love to share it with you – visit this page to download a free copy.

Cheers to your manager to leader shift success.
